Life in General is Jason LeVasseur and Jerry Chapman - one of the most ambitious, hard-working musical groups on the scene today.

Hailing from Winston-Salem, NC, this power duo has taken the music world by storm. After being picked by Musician Magazine as one of the top 100 unsigned bands in the country, their reputation as top-notch songwriters and live performers was further solidified by their record sales and non-stop national and international touring. Life in General has written over 100 songs, recorded 10 albums and has performed across the U.S.

Life in General has opened shows for Ben Folds Five, The Wallflowers, Bryan Adams, Barenaked Ladies and the Dave Matthews Band. They've toured Australia. And they are a five-time winner of the Campus Entertainment Award for Contemporary Music Artist of the Year.

Band Members

jerry chapmanJerry Chapman sings and plays acoustic guitar. He founded Life in General in 1992 along with former member Shelly Sutton. The duo recorded the CD "Long Forgotten Toys" in 1994, before adding Jason LeVasseur to the lineup. Sutton eventually left the group, leaving the more recognizable duo of Chapman and LeVasseur. Chapman graduated from Furman University, and is a native of Winston-Salem, NC.

jason levasseurJason LeVasseur sings and plays acoustic guitar, a stand-up drum kit, and congas. LeVasseur was born in the United States but spent most of his childhood in Mexico, Belgium, and Italy before returning to the States for college. LeVasseur's travels have influenced his playing style and his perspective on the world. LeVasseur graduated from Wake Forest University.
